CAD CAM

Computer Aided Design (CAD) & Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM)

Investment in the latest technology means the Supertuff team have all the tools required to facilitate the detailed engineering of a glass product. CAD software designs the tool paths that drive the CAM software, CAD turns the design in to a physical product. Our dedicated Auto Cad team are highly skilled and specialists in their sphere, and deliver both commercial and residential projects.

CAD-CAM enables a faster production process and components and tooling are created to precise dimensions. This intelligent technology calculates, with improved accuracy, the amount of raw material required for a project resulting in less waste, meaning it is good for the environment too.

You can email your drawings direct to our processing department where your project will be scheduled.

Whatever you need to know our friendly team are always available to assist with any CAD/CAM related queries.

TEMPLATE WORK

Due to the precise and detailed nature of templates, there are strict standards which need to be followed when placing your order.

Please note the following guidelines.

 1) Is a template essential for your order?

  • We can work to customer’s drawings that show the correct dimensions, angles or radii.
  • CAD drawings (DXF/DWG) should be sent by e-mail to mail@supertuff.co.uk
  • Orders received in these formats will directly enter our workflow.
  • This process enables a tighter tolerance with potential for error reduced.

2) Will Supertuff collect templates?

  • Templates should be delivered to our factory in London.
  • We can collect templates if requested, however, this service can only be offered if we have a delivery already scheduled for you.
  • Due to scheduling constraints, a collection would need to be booked in advance and a charge levied.

 3) How should Templates be constructed?

  • Templates are digitized to produce a CAD file. Therefore, it is essential that templates are made of a plywood or hardboard (not paper, cardboard or glass).
  • Templates that consist of multiple panels screwed or joined together, can only be accepted as one panel. Should it become disjointed in transit, it will be the customer’s responsibility to reassemble the template.
  • We cannot accept faxed templates.

4) How should you order?

  • Please fax or email your order to our office giving an outline brief, the product description, size and any processing required.
  • Please clearly mark ‘To Template’ and advise when your template will be with us. Without this our production department, will not be able to advise you if it hasn’t been received.
  • Please permanently mark the templates with your company’s name and an order reference.

5) Will you return my templates?

  • Templates are returned with the finished glass (the exception being when they are retained for repeat orders)

6) Other requirements

  • All screws must filed down and not protrude out.
  • Any information must be clear and old information must be crossed out.
  • Any holes not required must be covered.
